When I called to schedule the appointment for our dog, I explained what the appointment was for and why. We were also given an office visit price that was lower than what we were told during the visit. During the rooming process, I then repeated the reason for the visit to the vet tech or assistant. After she left the room, Alice and her came into the room seemingly casting judgement, wanting to know why treatment wasn’t an option and offered lab work and possibly prescribing meds. I explained that we while we love our farm animals, we have been blessed with 10-11 years with our dog, his temperament was becoming more aggressive (he recently nipped at my nephew and broke skin) and we have little nieces and nephews who we also need to protect. The rest of our experience was cold, disheartening, and was not ideal for writing the final chapter of our time spent with our beloved pet. All good things must come to end and not need temporary relief to extend time, while not having the quality of life. Empathy, compassion (for the humans as well), and shared-decision making is lacking at this office. Also please ensure that your customers are told the same expense for services and include your information for cremation, etc.

The doctor and crew have treated us with gentle hands and concern for all our fur babies. They realize our pets truly become family and work with that in mind. We could not be happier knowing we have them looking after us and our pets. Thanks to all of you.... Craig Hoepner...
